HoTPCA Annual Meeting and Holiday Potluck!

Greetings Everyone,

Once again it's time to kick-off the holiday season with our November membership drive and the Annual Meeting/Holiday Potluck on Sunday, 11/23 from noon at the International Hostel on Town Lake (Where we met last year). We've had a busy year, which we'll recap briefly before ratifying new bylaws, new Board members and a new slate of Officers. Then, they'll take over and lead us in a bit of planning for the upcoming year.

Agenda for this year's meeting now available!

Everyone knows a couple of RPCVs who should be involved in our group. Give them a call so we can keep growing. Also, think about paying your annual dues at the meeting or online if you haven't already. If you have comments, questions or suggestions, feel free to email info@hotpca.org or any Board Member.

Looking forward to seeing you there,

Lorel
Outgoing President, HoTPCA

Fundraising Raffle
We're going to have a raffle again this year and all of the proceeds will go into our small project grant fund. And we'll talk about finalizing a process to decide what projects to support. The raffle includes some excellent stuff including HoTPCA logo merchandise, original art, handloomed carpets [see below] and more.

Volunteer on the Board or a Committee
As we grow, so do the number of us who are working on projects organized within four Committees: Membership, Events, Communications and Organizational Structure.

We'll be selling Peace Corps calendars and taking pictures again, as well as catching up, eating and enjoying the sunshine on Lady Bird Lake.

Directions
When: Sunday, November 23 from noon – 3:00
Where: Austin's Int'l Youth Hostel; 2200 S. Lakeshore Blvd.
Check it Out: http://www.hiaustin.org

Directions: From IH35 South of Town Lake, exit on Riverside and head East. Turn left on Lakeshore Drive, which is the first intersection you'll come to. The Hostel is about one block down on your left.

Details: There's a modest parking lot, plenty of parking on the street and lots of space indoors and outside to visit, learn what's new and bask in the sun by the lake, both inside the airy common room or outside on the patio.

There's a kitchen with a bit of room to put finishing touches on your potluck offerings. HoTPCA will provide plates and utensils, as well as drinks and a turkey. Since the hostel sits on City of Austin property, no alcohol, please.
