HoTPCA Committees

HoTPCA Committees

Social Events Committee

This committee plans the upcoming social events for the Heart of Texas Peace Corps Association. We typically host one happy hour, dinner, and another event per month to encourage HoTPCA members to mingle with other returned Peace Corps volunteers and applicants. If you enjoy planning or hosting events for either small and large groups, then this committee is for you!

Commitment: Meet approximately once per quarter to plan upcoming events; volunteer as event host (optional).
Chair: Kelsey Meisenhelder, Vanuatu 2014-2016

Volunteer Committee

The Volunteer Committee organizes occasional volunteer activities for general membership, holds at least one volunteering-related event per quarter, recruits and manages volunteers for HoTPCA events, and recognizes volunteer activism throughout the year.

Commitment: Meet approximately once per quarter to plan upcoming events; volunteer as event host (optional).
Chair: Bianca Kapadia, Panama 2011-2013

Membership Committee

The membership committee provides checks and balances for HoTPCA – we help make sure that the needs of our members are being met by the organization. We also keep track of membership dues, which benefit HoTPCA’s international grants program by supporting development projects consistent with the Peace Corps spirit and goals.

Commitment: Meet approximately once per quarter; email exchanges as needed between meetings.
Chair: Adam Pabbason, Zambia 2008-2011

Grants Committee

HoTPCA’s annual membership dues benefit our international grants program that funds the Peace Corps projects of currently serving volunteers and supports development projects consistent with the Peace Corps spirit and goals. The Grants Committee meets quarterly to review current fund balances, discuss the types of projects we would like to fund, and make funding recommendations to the HoTPCA Board.

Commitment: Meet approximately once per quarter, email exchanges as needed between meetings.
Chair: Glenn Holzer, Tanzania 2011-2013
